​The Hungarian Lake festival’s Lake Velence program will start with a gala concert on the 18th of June at the Laura Csajághy open air theater which is one of the newest cultural establishments of the region. The theater opened its doors last year with great success. The culture lovers attended the diverse performances in outstanding numbers. The Lake Velence festival’s first gala performance will be hosted by Adam Bősze, the well-known music enthusiast and music historian and radio host. The leading role will be held by Erika Miklósa, Kossuth award winning opera singer, who is the ambassador of the festival and is also celebrating her 30 years on stage anniversary. She is also a resident of the town of Velence.

The series’ Saturday event will be, just like the host festival at Lake Tisza, the day of the Tour’D Opera bicycle excursion. For the event the finest venues will be visited around the lake of Velence.

During the day long tour the participants will enjoy various musical concerts at seven different locations. The end of the tour will be crowned with a grandiose Velence picnic on the lawns of the Halász-kastély (fisherman’s mansion) where the local producers of various gastronomical items will showcase their products and the public will have an opportunity to get a taste of the local flavors. It is an important part of the tour to invite local entrepreneurs to allow insight into their products and to offer a taste of the local gastronomic culture.

The Boat d’Opera program component on Sunday consist of a dragon boat event, which is the series’ most exciting element. The participants get a chance to listen to the one of a kind performances of the artists of the Velence lake area, besides getting to view the natural beauty of the lake close range.
